Week Recap


This was a busy week.  We had our golf outing for work and then I had class and crossfit and went out last night with my cousin for some Irish music (my uncle is in an Irish band)! This week I made a morning muffin to take to work along with a banana.  This guy was packed with protein and tasty! Below is a screenshot of the recipe from a fellow instagramers page.
Instead of sugar in the raw, I did honey.  I didn't have 1/4 c p sugar in the raw on hand.
Also, I only had one cup of steel cut oats, so I did the rest (3 cups) whole oats. And I only did 2 bananas.

While working at the golf outing, I was watching the hole in one for $25,000, hole. It was beautiful, so laid out on the golf course. (I was on the side, not right smack in the middle.  Even though I thought how funny that would be to lay on the fairway.)

Beautiful day and I got to drive a golf cart! Can't ask for more!

Crossfit...almost one month complete 😍

I must say I LOVE crossfit!! It is an insane workout and you feel like you're dying the entire time, and then miraculously you feel like a million bucks once you regain your composure! I've been noticing some body changes going on here. And here's the list.

1. My legs weren't in the best shape. Not as bad as years past since I started running two years ago, but not great. NOW I noticed a huge difference when I sit down and look at the sides of my legs and play then game where you count all the dimples of cellulite and cry on the inside, sometimes the outside as well. Definite plus! (Attribute to squats and lifting.)
2. My butt is getting big. So big a seam ripped in my size 2 Capri work pants. I got really sad. But then after further examination of my butt (and doing squats  in the mirror and flexing butt muscles) I've realized it's muscle!!! So that's ok. But it was shocking at first! 
3. My arms are not giggly or bingo-y at all! I'm so happy! Still working on the dreaded arm pit fat (gross), but that will come with the push-ups! 
4. After deciding on only doing 2 classes a week with my schedule and everything, I'm thinking about upping it next month I three! I want more crossfit!!! 
5. Since the bf sees me getting all buff, I'm thinking he's a little intimidated and even said "maybe I should have done crossfit with you?!" But for now he's on the healthy eating train with me! 

That's all I can think of for now, but I was so excited about my arms, I did something I never thought I'd do....ever!

Dreary Monday

This weekend was super hot on the inland, however, at the beach it was chilly.  There was a strong wind coming off the ocean and temps ranged from 90 to 70. I was sweating when I left my house but freezing on the beach. I also had a sunscreen application fail! The most random sun burn ever!

Memorial Day Weekend Pic recap


The beach is not nearly as big as it used to be! The jetty is so much more exposed then last year!

It was pretty cold on the beach but people we convinced to get n a beach day.

When we go down the shore, I usually bake a treat to bring with us.  For Memorial Day weekend, I thought everyone would enjoy a slice of this beauty for breakfast.  Also, I subbed in some greek yogurt for the butter. Delicious!

Yard sale makeover items, puppies & curly hair don't care


This mirror was originally just a wooden 6 pane window mirror. I painted it aqua and antiqued with gold. Goes perfectly with my Moroccan color scheme in the master.
I don't know how I feel yet about the lamp. I think the silver of the lamp and the gold accessories and antiquing clash too much.
And here's an additional pic I sent last night to the bf to try to convince him of a puppy purchase. (Even though I myself know its not reasonable right now. Still entertaining to joke about it.) 
And here's my curled hair. I curled it with the straightener. It's hard to get a pic that shows the back is a little shorter and contrasts from the front. But loving how much I can actually do with this cut. After my keratin, my hair just free naturally to a wave.

No pain no gain, right?

Ouch is all I can say. I am finishing up my crossfit foundations program and boy are my arms sore today.  However, I must say I am feeling better than ever about doing crossfit. It is a wise investment and I feel so much better about my workouts! The high intensity of the workouts really confirms you don't need to work out for 2+ hours a day! Yes, yes, I feel like I may peel over during and after these workouts but, it's a great feeling once I can breath again! However, I can't get into the paleo lifestyle 😁it's just not my thing. I'll just stick we portion size and not going crazy with cookies. Cookies are my weakest link, or any dessert for that matter.
